Praise God

Psalm 117 consists of only two verses in our Bible but is filled with mighty truths. First, all nations and all people are to praise the Lord. “O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.”

Modern teaching would limit the praise of God to be for those who claim to be Jews or Christian. Other people praise their gods. How contrary is this to the truth we find in the Bible! Isaiah, the prophet of God, spoke regarding God saying: “Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” Isaiah 44:6

If all nations and all peoples are to praise the one and only Jehovah God Almighty, we must endeavor with all our strength and resources to make God known to all people.   The work of evangelism never ceases.

Not only do we praise Him because He alone is God but for His mercy and grace. “For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.”

Without the merciful kindness of God, we would be eternally lost and condemned. Praise God for His merciful kindness. This is not a time limited truth but one that will endure forever. “Praise ye the Lord.”
