Today From Psalms
It seems that most of us are experts at examining the lives of others. We can easily see their faults and the areas of theirs lives which need serious attention. If only we were as quick and as thorough in examining our self.
Psalms 119:59 “I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.”
As the writer gives serious consideration to his ways, he realized he was not walking in the ways of God’s law. If he had been there would have been no need to “turn my feet.” Once the decision to repent was made, he did not delay in keeping God’s Word.
Psalms 119:60 “I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.”
To daily examine our life in light of God’s Word is a wholesome practice. But we must then act upon what God shows us. If we have not walked according to the Word of God, we need to “turn our feet.” The decision must then be followed by immediate obedience to God’s Word.
