People often speak of “the meaning of life” and question the reason for our existence. They want to know why we are here. Many of them are living their lives with a feeling of no purpose. Some will get stuck in a routine and the repetitiveness of life and can often live without a feeling of direction.
But God has a purpose to all that He does. There is omniscient reasoning behind all that He does. This would include His creation; all that He created. Obviously, this would include His forming of mankind. Notice what He says about this in Isaiah 43:7.
Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
“…for I have created him for my glory…” Mankind was created for God’s glory. As God pondered what He would create on this earth and the thought of humans came to His mind…His reasoning for making them was so that they would ultimately glorify Him.
Glorify: To make glorious by bestowing glory upon; to honor; to elevate; to render homage to; to magnify in worship; to adore; to praise
Meditate on this: your existence on Earth; the reason for why you are here…is to glorify God; to bring honor to Him; to elevate Him; to magnify Him. And, we are to do this before others. Others are to hear us glorifying Him through our words and see us glorifying Him by our actions, by the way we live.
Mt. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
